APPLICATION OF GLASS FIBER IN VARIOUS INDUSTRIES
Leave a message
In the previous article, we discussed the types and characteristics of glass fibers, and in this article we will continue to understand the cross-industry applications of glass fibers.
Materials with high temperature insulation properties provide an effective thermal barrier for industrial gaskets. Fiberglass is one of the widely preferred materials for industrial gaskets due to its durability, safety and high thermal insulation properties. Not only do they provide better insulation, they also help protect machinery, save energy and keep professional workers safe. This is perhaps why glass fibers are widely used in the following industries:
Beverage Industry: Fiberglass gratings are used in many fields such as bottling lines and breweries.
Car wash: Recently, fiberglass grating has been heavily used to resist rust and provide a contrasting color to areas that previously seemed off-limits. It illuminates the interior of the car wash tunnel, making cars appear cleaner than they are.
Chemical Industry: In this industry, fiberglass grating is used for anti-slip safety features embedded in gritty surfaces and chemical resistance properties of different resin compounds. The chemicals used are matched to the resin.
Cooling Towers: Because cooling towers are always wet, they must be protected from rust, corrosion, and other safety issues. Due to the excellent properties of fiberglass, it is used as a shield in these towers to keep people and animals out of the danger zone.
Docks and Docks: Docks are corroded, rusted and damaged by salt water. Therefore, fiberglass is used here for protection.
Food processing: In chicken and beef processing plants, fiberglass gratings are used to prevent slipping and stop corrosive blood. Fiberglass is also used in most food processing areas because other grating materials are not suitable.
Fountains and Aquariums: Fountains and aquariums of all sizes use fiberglass to support rocks to aid in circulation and filtration from beneath the rocks. In large public fountains, fiberglass gratings are used to protect sprinklers and lights from damage. This also prevents people from drowning in fountains.
MANUFACTURING: The embedded grit surface of the fiberglass grating ensures slip resistance in wet areas or where hydraulic fluid or oil is present.
Metals and Mining: FRP gratings are used in electronics refining where chemical corrosion is prone to occur. No other grating material can be used here.
Power generation: Fiberglass is used in many areas of the power generation industry, such as oil depots, scrubbers, etc. The reason for this is the non-conductive nature of glass fibers.
Plating Plant: Fiberglass grating is used for this application due to the non-slip properties of the surface.
Pulp and Paper Industry: Fiberglass is chemically resistant and can be used in pulp and bleaching plants. Recently, fiberglass has been used in many fields due to its corrosion resistance and anti-skid properties.
Automotive Industry: Fiberglass is widely used in the automotive industry. Almost every car has fiberglass parts and body kits.
Aerospace & Defense: Fiberglass is used to make components for the military and civilian aerospace industries, including test equipment, piping, housings, and more.
