Flooring Fiberglass Reinforcing Mesh

Flooring Fiberglass Reinforcing Mesh

Flooring Fiberglass Reinforcing Mesh is a high-performance reinforcement material specifically engineered for flooring systems. Embedded in cement-based self-leveling compounds, tile adhesives, waterproofing layers, or screed mortars, it prevents cracking, improves tensile strength, and extends the service life of flooring systems.

Description

Product Information

GALAXYFIBER Flooring Fiberglass Reinforcing Mesh is made from alkali-resistant fiberglass yarn with a specialized coating. It provides excellent adhesion, flexibility, and load distribution capability, making it suitable for tiled floors, stone floors, underfloor heating systems, industrial floors, and floor renovation projects.

Key Features for Mosaic Tile Applications

  • Crack Prevention – Effectively resists cracking caused by substrate movement, thermal stress, and load concentration.
  • High Tensile Strength – Provides reliable reinforcement for floor layers under static and dynamic loads.
  • Excellent Adhesion – Bonds strongly with cementitious adhesives, self-leveling compounds, and screed mortars.
  • Alkali-Resistant Coating – Ensures durability in cementitious and alkaline environments.
  • Load Distribution – Distributes point loads evenly to prevent localized cracking.
  • Flexible & Conformable – Adapts to floor contours, corners, and irregular surfaces.
  • Lightweight – Minimal added weight to floor structures.
  • Cost-Effective – Reduces maintenance and floor repair frequency.

Usage Precautions

  • Storage: Store in a dry, ventilated area away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  • Temperature: Install above 5°C for best results.
  • Surface Prep: Ensure floor substrate is clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, or loose particles.
  • Cutting: Use sharp scissors or a cutter; do not tear by hand.
  • Embedding: Must be fully embedded in adhesive, screed, or self-leveling compound.
  • Overlap: Maintain at least 10cm overlap between adjacent strips; 15–20cm at corners.
  • Skin Contact: Wear gloves and long sleeves to prevent fiber irritation.

Product Usage

  1. Surface Preparation – Clean and level the floor substrate.
  2. Apply Base Coat – Spread a uniform layer of adhesive or screed (approx. 2–3mm).
  3. Lay Mesh – Press the mesh into the wet adhesive, ensuring full contact.
  4. Overlap – Overlap adjacent strips by at least 10cm; 15–20cm at corners.
  5. Apply Top Coat – Cover with a second layer of adhesive or screed, fully embedding the mesh.
  6. Smooth – Remove air bubbles with a trowel or roller.
  7. Cure – Allow to dry per manufacturer's instructions.
  8. Finish – Install tile, stone, or floor coating as required.
